Hawk Talk

Currently sitting here under a tree at the Waterfront writing this blog because Nate told me to so... Hey! Totally beautiful day here; not a cloud in the sky, light breeze, and it works out great because we're about to go waterskiing. Ever since I got here 12 days ago, I knew that an afternoon like this was one that I had been waiting for all year.

Though going to the waterfront is always a highlight of camp, it is only one of the things that I came here to do. As an August-Only camper for the past few summers, I decided to come here for a full 50 days not only to experience twice the number of waterfront, athletics, and ropes periods, but also to meet more people, make new friends, and have more time to learn more about myself. At home, no matter where it is, you are always in contact with the same people, activities, and lessons. Though our 300+ Camp seems so small at times, there is always something new going on, or a new lesson to be learned. It doesn't matter if you're learning to tie a knot in a sailing period or staring deep into a fire with your village, each time it happens, it's always different and there's always something new to be discovered. It is these reasons that I'm now here for a full summer, and so far, I don't regret it one bit.
