Stories With Seneca

Today was incredible!

Hi CSLers! I'm Caitlin and I'm part of the Hachshara program this year at camp. Our group got to camp today in the morning and got to see the rest of the staff come in at lunch.

When our activities for the afternoon rolled around, I didn't know what to expect. We all showed up at the waterfront, went over a few rules and before we knew it, were on all of the boats from the waterfront (with our new, handy dandy name tags, of course) paddling on our surprise expedition across Seneca Lake!

We cooked our own dinner at the park, and paddled back to camp in the absolutely beautiful weather. The pairings the staff were put in were very interesting and no one knew how long we would be out, but I've already learned three important things about my first summer as a staff member:

1. Always be willing to adapt to new situations with a smile and good attitude.
2. Be open to new people, they can surprise you.
3. Wear sunscreen. A thick layer. Always.
I challenge all of the campers out there reading this to come up with their own list, and also consider mine, as you prepare for an UNFORGETTABLE summer!

I can't wait to see what else staff training has in store for me and I definitely cannot wait to meet all of you!
