My name is Jenny Kaplan, and this is my 11th summer at Camp Seneca Lake. This summer I'm working as a waterfront activity counselor. It's so exciting to be able to get to know my own bunk, as well as be able to meet the other campers who come down to the waterfront everyday. It is an experince that not everyone gets, and I'm so lucky that I have the opportunity to do so this summer -- I can't wait to see the broader spectrum of camp.
When I chose to be an activity counselor, at first I was nervous that I would feel left out in terms of the rest of the Senecan village. However, this orientation week has shown me just how welcoming and inclusive all the Seneca staff are, and I'm really starting to get a picture of what this summer will be like.
It's so great to see all the staff working so hard to plan programs and events, and it shows how much this village and the campers in it mean to all the staff. I can't wait for the campers to finally come, so get here already!!
