The atmosphere at 200 Camp Road has been quickly changing. The past couple of days were filled with Programming, Lifeguard, and AUH orientation, but yesterday around 30 new staff gathered to become oriented to the CSL culture. From Fight Song to Color War, hobbies to Mystery Moses, the new staff learned an entire new glossary of CSL-specific terms. It was a fantastic experience to see their faces as they watched the videos of last year’s programs. You can tell they are all eager to hit the ground running for the upcoming session.
It’s great to see the dynamics of the 30 newbies, and all of the diverse experiences each person brings to this summer. We have several students from Program Director Ari Baum’s Hill School, as well as seven new Israeli staff. We have staff from across the United States and staff that have not been to camp since they were campers. The energy in the dining hall at the past couple of meals tells all: everyone is ready for today. Today the entire staff will have made that same trip down Camp Road, unpacked their bags where so many have before them, and wonder what surprises the next couple weeks will bring them.
