Messina Returns to Tusc in 2014

Dear CSL Community:

It is with great pleasure that I announce the appointment of Isaac Clayton Messina as a Tusc Counselor for summer 2014.  Like most CSL staff, Isaac grew up at Camp Seneca Lake.  He was a Tusc Camper in 2007 and was the first recipient of the Award for Male Camper Excellence at the conclusion of that summer.  Isaac has been a Cayuga counselor for the last five summers, serving as a critical part of that village’s resurgence in enrollment and stature at CSL over that time.  Isaac has also worked at Arts & Crafts for most of his staff career, playing a key role each summer.  Much of the greatest artwork at CSL has seen Isaac at the core.

Born and raised in Pittsford, New York, Isaac graduated from Pittsford Sutherland High School in 2010.  He has since attended Syracuse University, expecting to graduate this coming May.  He is a major in Art History with a minor in Chemistry.  Isaac plans to attend graduate school for art conservation, a career that blends the arts and sciences.  Prior to CSL 2013, Isaac spent six weeks in Florence, Italy working as an apprentice to a private art conservator.  He has also spent time as a research intern for the curator of the art gallery on Syracuse’s campus as well as his art history professor.

After a long road through Cayuga and A&C, Isaac is extremely excited about moving back to Tusc where his time as a camper ended seven years ago.

"I am overjoyed to join the village of Tuscarora 2014! I cannot wait for the incredible summer ahead of us. Everyone bring comfy seat pads for your bikes because it's going to be a long, bumpy (literally), fantastic, and unforgettable ride. Let's all get down and do the senior bugaloo! Woo! "

He joins fellow Tusc 07 campers Rachel Rosenbaum and Talia Tesler on the Tusc 2014 staff.

Sincerely,
Ari Baum, Assistant Director & Tusc Program Coordinator
