Cordaro Runs Back to Tusc

Dear CSL Community:

It is with great pleasure that I announce the appointment of Gaby Cordaro as a Tusc Counselor for the 2014 summer.  Gaby has grown up at CSL, beginning back in Onondaga and finishing up her camper experience in Tusc 2009.  Since that time, Gaby has grown into one of the most dedicated, effective counselors at CSL.  After her LIT summer in 2010, Gaby worked as an Onondaga counselor the next three summers.  Twice recognized by the CSL Acknowledgement Awards committee, Gaby received the Award for Female Camper Excellence in 2009 and then the Sig Stoler Award for Counselor Excellence in 2013.  Often seen with campers all around her or training for field hockey, Gaby is one of the most intensely passionate staff members at CSL – she will be a welcome addition to Tusc 2014.  The true testifying image of Gaby are her disciplined running habits in which she partakes just about every single day of the summer during what little free time she has.

Originally from Rochester, New York, Gaby attended Brighton schools graduating from Brighton High School in 2012.  She then enrolled at Ithaca College where she plays field hockey and is a coxswain on the Crew team.  Currently a sophomore, Gaby is a Biochemistry major with intentions to attend medical school after graduation.  She is one of four children and is one of several family members to attend CSL including her mother.

As passionate as Gaby is about camp, she is even more so about the Tusc program:

“I knew from the second I returned home from camp in August 2009 (after her own Tusc summer) that I wanted to become a Tusc staff member.  Everything that I could take away from my summer made me into the person I am today.  It fills me up to the brim with joy to have the opportunity to pay it forward.  This is your summer Tusc 2014, keep your eye on the calendar because we are closing in on the most important two months of your lives.”

We are lucky to have Gaby back with us at camp and back with Tusc.  She will be undoubtedly missed in Onondaga but will still be seen there during her daily runs in 2014.

Sincerely,
Ari Baum, Assistant Director & Tusc Program Coordinator
