Last night Game 7 broke with red and blue fireworks, along with a crazy procession of fire and glow sticks. 1,2,3,4 we want a color war echoed all throughout camp, and everyone jumped and screamed as they realized what was happening. The first event begun immediately. It required campers and staff to ring glow sticks together, and then set off luminaries of their team color into the sky. The event was titled "Light The Sky," and we essentially did light the sky. Blue ended up winning, and then everyone went back to villages to get a good night's rest for today's events.
Th morning started with a silent breakfast as always, and then the second signature event began. This required teams to split up into groups and launch water balloons at the other team, with the hopes of the balloon breaking in their garbage can. Everyone was having a great time, and the team spirit was incredible from both teams.
Eventually, morning events began ranging from an Art Barnathon to Speedball, to Basketball, and many other things. After lunch and a short rest period, afternoon events and the "People of Steel" competitions began. These ranged from gaga, to a home run derby, a "marathon," and of course, the famous Iron Man & Iron Women. We were all pushed to our absolute limits, but again, team support was clutch and everyone came together to cheer each other on and encourage each other.
We are now going into dinner and evening events, and we can't wait to see what happens! I can't believe we have a whole second day of this program, but I know that both teams are extremely excited and ready to go. Intensity is at an all time high, but so is sportsmanship, which is so amazing to see.
We can't wait for what will happen next, and remember to stay tuned to the blog, twitter, and Instagram for updates about Game 7!
