After dinner, the whole camp went down to the basketball courts, thinking that they would be participating in an all camp program dodgeball game. The dodgeball teams counted down from 10 in anticipation of a big finale and they got it! As soon as the number one was shouted, the basketball court lights abruptly shut off and it went pitch black instantly. Immediately following, fireworks burst in the sky the order of past color war winning teams (red, blue, blue, red, blue, red) to show that there are currently 3 wins for blue and 3 for red. The playing field is even. Tusc and the color war team captains emerged from the woods with red and blue fire and surrounded the basketball court to conclude the break. The two teams then moved on to strategize for the first signature event- Light the Sky. During the event, the teams had to connect glow sticks to make a chain from one pole to another. Once the chain was made, they lit 7 luminaries. By the end 56 total luminaries were let into the sky from each team. From beginning to end both teams were neck in neck, with blue taking the win at the end. A blue firework went in the air to signify blue's victory. However, It is only the first night, and it is still anyone's game. 47 hours left, the war is on.
