After a long 3 weeks of practicing and preparation, all our hard work paid off. Winning was single handedly the best moment of the summer thus far -- the look of pure joy on all the faces of the campers and staff was absolutely priceless. From a staff perspective, I could not be more proud of these girls. They put every ounce of energy into Fight Song, and left everything they had on the O-Rec stage.
After announcing the Seneca win, the girls went absolutely CRAZY. We all stormed the stage and screamed and jumped and cried until we couldn't breathe, and then ran back to the village to continue the celebration. And even better than that, tomorrow is Seneca Day, which means the celebration won't end for another 24 hours!!!
I have never been so proud of this village and I am so happy to be wearing a champion Fight Song medal right now. The trophy is currently siting to my right, and every time I look at it I can't help but smile. This is just such proof that hard work truly does pay off, and these 66 girls deserve even more than a trophy and a medal for all that they have done thus far.
