Today the oldest Seneca bunks left for their three day camping trip in the Adirondacks. The village is quieter without them... We'll miss them so much! Though they are gone for now, the remaining Seneca ladies have been as amazing as ever. Today at lunch the youngest girls were able to show off their hard work learning our village's cheers when we screamed them in the dining hall. The volume was astonishing!! Their efforts definitely paid off. I was so proud. They completely held their own in the absence of the older girls.
In the afternoon, the middle bunks (S-3 and S-4) had Judaica with David Zarkowski where we discussed the Shema and different ways of praying. It was a great session and the girls learned a lot. Then we changed gears and played scatter ball at athletics. Even in the extreme heat, both the campers and staff put all their energy into it and it was a blast! Of course we took water breaks... Hydration is key in the camp heat.
Later tonight for the evening program the Tuscarora girl campers will be leading Seneca and Onondaga in a program of their very own. We have yet to find out what it is but we are so excited to find out!!
