This second week in Onondaga has been wonderful, with the village growing closer and closer together each day. Sunday night the camp was split up by gender, where all females in camp and all males in camp separately engaged in activities. On the female side, every Onondaga was placed in to a “family” with 3 or 4 other girls of different ages. They played games together, had dinner together, designed family t-shirts together, and then participated in a very fun dance party. The girls loved every moment of it! Monday night was a great PUP where Onondaga and Cayuga were divided into 6 different groups; parrots, monkeys, crocodiles, tigers, snakes and bears. The animals competed in a multitude of events until the tigers were crowned victors. Last night was really great for Onondaga, wheneach bunk split off to do an individual activity with its counselors. The activities ranged from body paint and bracelet making, to paint wars and swimming in the lake. The girls are just having a blast, and the counselors couldn’t be happier to have them all here!
