Bunk nights are my favorite nights. It's a time when counselors get to recreate their favorite activities with their campers in creative and exciting ways.
Tonight oldest Onondaga, eventually joined by some of Cayuga, went slip 'n sliding the old fashion way. We set up a giant tarp on the hill behind the pool and splashed paint, soap, and water all over it.
The counselors gave a few demonstrations on "how to properly use the slip 'n slide" and then the kids were off! After hearing "ready, set, go" the campers would slide down in pairs seeing who could reach the bottom first. It started raining yet none of the children were aware because they were having such an incredible time, it's times like those that us counselors work towards everyday.
