Mohawk: Village of Men

There is a limit to how much growth and maturation we as staff can foster through our words alone. I have been given the great opportunity this softball season to be head coach of the Office Nationals in the Mohawk National League. For many, MNL is the period that is most looked forward to and savored. For some, games act as a showcase for their innate talent and athletic ability. For others, MNL gives a unique opportunity to work as a team and discover the major tenets of leadership. The Nationals on paper could have easily been mediocre. Middle of the road talent paired with the mystery of team chemistry put our team up in the air. This morning we faced the Ropes Course Red Sox and after 5 hard fought innings the Nationals were victorious with a score of 4 runs to 3. I kept quiet following the final out to see how the Mohicans would handle victory. Before the runners on base could return to the bleachers, a wave of hugs and handshakes brought together the two teams that had just been working so hard to defeat each other. These boys are going to change the world. I have never been so proud.
