The session has come to a close so an overview of the CHL season seemed to be in order.
This season of CHL was one of those years where the talent was high and the games were intense. The Escondido Ents, coach by now 2 season victor Richard Hexter, pulled out the win with an undefeated season. The team had Hudson Reitkopp on it, who ended up being the youngest ever individual to win the MVP award. Another notable player was Clarence Beltz, who proved to be one of the strongest players in the league only being in C-1 and having this be his first ever season. We expect big things from him in the future. Virtually every single player had notable moments during the season and Cayuga was a village full if hockey all stars.
I do not think that anyone walked away from this season hanging their heads. Sportsmanship is the single most important part of the CHL league. Everyone this season was a good sport and trash talking was the a minimum. One player, Noah Kantor, was award with the Sportsmanship award. He shook every players hand after every game with a smile on his face, win or lose. His spirt of the game is exactly what CHL is all about.
This was my first season being commissioner of the league after coming out with my August victory last year. I love the sport of hockey and believe CHL is one of the most important things that a Cayuga takes part in during the summer. I was definitely not the most athletic camper as a kid, but I still loved the league I was in. They strengthen bonds are create friendships along with learning valuable lessons. One season teaches a camper about hard work, motivation, teamwork, drive, and friendship. Every camper did an amazing job this season and I am excited to see the talent that August will bring. Thank you July campers, you all are amazing!
