Calling Support from CSL Families, Alumni and Communities

2nd Annual CSL Run:
Calling Support from CSL Families, Alumni and Communities!

On Thursday, July 11th, the 2nd Annual CSL Run
will kick off!  All campers and staff will come together to take part in an event that is eye opening, heart warming, and a necessary part of our role as citizens. We are hoping for your support. Between 10:00 pm on Wednesday evening and 10:00 pm on Thursday evening, we would greatly appreciate if you would make a meaningful donation to one of the four chosen charities for which the CSL community will be running. At the end of the night, your donations along with the money raised at the CSL Run will be presented to the campers to further illuminate how great of an impact their actions can have on those in need of support.

The CSL Run began in 2012, providing our campers the opportunity to play a role in helping one of four charities. Campers and staff received a penny for each lap they ran around camp and saw first hand what the phrase ‘every penny and every person counts’ really means. The night’s meaning soared well above its impressive monetary results, though. Campers and staff alike cheered from the sidelines, sprinted up Infirmary Hill, and showed unparalleled dedication to the causes. And by the end of the night, over fifty dollars was raised and donated to each charity.

The night’s events will focus on four relevant Jewish Midot that correspond to one of the four charities including:

  • Shomrei Adama (taking care of the land): Hazon Community Supported Agriculture
  • Kehillah and Rachamim (community and compassion): The Newtown Family Fund
  • Ha Va’At Shalo Bein Afam Lahavero, (bringing peace between people): Seeds of Peace
  • Ha’akhalat Re’evim, (feeding the hungry) End Hunger Network

Please help us make this night a success for Camp and the organizations we will support. Go to the CSL Summer Blog to donate!

Sincerely,
Your CSL Family
