My name is Alec Jacobson and this is my 12th summer here at CSL. It is just under 48 hours until we see all the campers sprint off the bus into the arms of their best friends and I couldn't be more excited! It's amazing how time flies.
I arrived at camp one week ago for Tuscarora staff orientation, and this week has been a jam packed seven days. We have accomplished quite a lot and we are getting amped up for the campers to finally arrive!
The past three summers, I have worked in the younger boys village of Cayuga. This summer will certainly be an interesting transition now that I am working with fourteen to fifteen year old boys and girls, but it is something that I have been looking forward to for some time. I still fondly remember my Tuscarora summer in 2008, and I couldn't be more excited to finally be back in Tusc five years later.
Outside of camp, I just finished up my sophomore year at Syracuse University where I am studying pre-medicine. I love my school years at 'Cuse, but I am always looking forward to my summers at CSL. I have a good feeling that this twelfth summer may be the best of them all as I return to my favorite village and get the opportunity to be a counselor for some pretty amazing campers. I'm getting excited for Sunday and I hope you all are too!
Until next time,
Alec Jacobson
