Hi! My name is Ally Roos, and I am the Seneca AUH, or assistant unit head, as well as a bunk counselor in middle Seneca.
This is my 8th summer at CSL and my 3rd as a staff member. This being my 3rd year as a staff member, this is also my 3rd time going through the very structured week long orientation. This years orientation has been a little different than previous years and has thus far included a lot of discussion to help with staff development.
In Seneca yesterday, we were able to discuss what makes a truly good counselor as well as strategies for attaining that. We also started talking about the excitement that comes with dressing up on the first day as well as that night. The creative bunch of Seneca's staff has come up with some stellar ideas and we cannot wait for all of the campers to see!
Last night, all of CSL staff participated in a trivia competition which got both heated and very exciting. The staff battled it out to see who knew the most about topics such as sports, science and CSL trivia. Although my team did not win (and was not even close to winning), we still had a fantastic time getting to know other staff from the various parts of camp. All and all it was a great day and I cannot wait to see what today brings!
