I feel as though I am in a perpetual state of "half packed." Whether it be college, camp, or my most recent excursion to Malawi, Africa. I always have Tuberware crates or a locked trunk with items deemed CSL in permanent marker.
I had returned from Malawi and in 30 hours I was on Camp Road. My travel group had dreaded the day, the day when they returned to America to consistency, routine- I had not. I knew routine would not come into my vocabulary. Camp is not routine. There is a new program, a new activity, a new addition to campus. As an Ithaca College athlete I was up doing my nightly run and came across something fascinating. I ran by new and old staff chatting in the dinning hall, playing under the sick lights of the bball court, walking the dirt roads. It was the first hours of orientation and we had already picked up from where we left off.
