One year ago, I pulled down camp road for the first time in my life. I told myself that I was in for an adventure, but I wasn't ready for what was about to come. What happened in the summer of 2012, was that I found a place that was extremely special. The people, the scenery, and so much more made last summer the best summer of my life. The adventure lied in coming to a new place, which had been well established and special to many people and contributing to that community successfully. It was a ride that I will never forget and will cherish the rest of my life.
This summer, I begin a new adventure. My adventure this summer once again vaults me into a new frontier. This summer I am a counselor in Tuscarora. My excitement about this opportunity to work in this village is off the charts, and I'm really thrilled to see what this group of kids accomplishes this year. The staff is here planning programs, prepping villages, but mostly we are anticipating the arrival of the campers six days from today. I'm ready to kick off this adventure and make 2013 the best year of CSL ever.
I am also aware that all of the campers in Tuscarora will be in for an adventure this summer. This summer will be unlike all the rest. Tusc is a special place for the people that get the opportunity to cross through it and take advantage of all of the things that it has to offer. There is a lot here for the taking, and I'm excited to watch the senior campers of 2013 do great things. It's time to go on an adventure.
