The Pine Tree Post

Hello parents and friends of Cayuga!

Today was a spectacular first full day for the pine tree people of the uge! The day began with a bright and early wake up call at 7:15 am. To the campers, however, this most certainly is not early as at 7:16, nearly all the kids were outside playing countless sports with each other. This is always a delight to see and it definitely makes me proud to be a Cayugan counselor.

We next ate a delicious breakfast of french toast sticks, and then following clean up, we had the first chl period of the august session! All of the kids played with intense gusto and pride, but most importantly sportsmanship. we all shook hands after 40 minutes of grueling hockey, and then headed over to the pool for some refreshing swim lessons and free swim. What a morning!

After lunch and rest hour, the boys of C-2 had ropes where they played challenging games that required a full team effort. The boys, of course, were successful here! All of the kids then headed to the o field to watch the mohawk staff take on your very own cayuga staff in speedball. Unfortunately, the m-staff came out on top by a margin of 6 points, but the uge staff still felt confident in the way we played and carried ourselves on the field. Only the best for these boys of Cayuga!

Following this, the boys went to dinner and then went on a large money hunt around camp where they all looked for change scattered on the ground. The purpose of this was so that they could auction on a specialist who would provide some reward to the group that picked them such as a party boat ride or a song session with charlie. All of the groups absolutely loved this evening program, as did I! The boys are now back in the cabin, sound asleep and anxiously awaiting what tomorrow will bring. As we like to say in C-2, we will win the day!

Until next time,
