Hello everyone!
Not only did we just finish up our last shabbat at Camp Seneca Lake 2012 but we also just completed campstock.
The big O looked beautiful for the last shabbat. Many of the younger girls began to truly find the meaning of our shabbat services and enjoy the songs and prayers. The discussions that followed our Saturday morning service were full of wise insight from all of the girls ranging from 0-1 to 0-4. Each discussion group varied from talking about noahs arc to Jewish law and even right and wrong. They girls really got into these and had discussions with eachother which was a big leap from the first weeks.
Tonight was campstock which is our annual talent show. It was full of skits, dances, songs and ap much more. This was a time for people to step up and show all different kinds of talents. Some of the skits were done as a bunk while others were done with a mix.
Onondaga represented campstock with a handful of gymnastic routines as well as dancing and singing performances. Each and every onondagan performance put the crowd in awe. They were well rehearsed and full of enthusiasm. These girls truly shown tonight and showed the camp what being a part of the big O is about.
As a camp we also participated in a mystery moses, which is a secret gift exchange (secret Santa). The girls each had a person they were assigned to and tonight was the night they were able to give there gifts as well as receive them. The girls worked on a variety of presents whether it be a bracelet, picture, a&c project or snacks. They girls of the big O stepped out of there comfort zone to get to know people of all ages in camp. They also loved getting new gifts and seeing what there friends got.
It was a long night full of activities, music, food and so much more. It was so much fun and the girls seemed to love watching as well as being a part of this special night. They were all ready for bed as the closing acts finished and enjoyed the 3 second walk to there beds. The stars are lighting up the night sky as onondaga ends another wonderful day.
