The Senecan Scribe

What a day it has been in Seneca! Tensions ran high all day as the entire camp was anticipating the second annual Fight Song competition. With silent meals to preserve our voices and extensive preparation periods, everyone was chomping at the bit to get the night underway.

After we got dressed in our all black outfits, we ran through one last practice before heading to the O-Rec for the competition. Everyone brought their A-game -- Cayuga, Onondaga, Mohawk, Tusc, and of course Seneca, all put their best foot forward and sang and danced their hearts out.

Seneca was on FIRE. Starting with our own version of Bootylicious and flowing into Fergalicious, and finally ending with Sexy and I Know It, the judges were blown away. They couldn't believe how together and passionate the girls were about their fight song!

Unfortunately, at the end of the night we did not win the trophy as we did last year -- Cayuga took home the gold . Although we didn't win the tangible trophy, Seneca definitely won the hearts of camp and left the stage with more pride and confidence than ever.

We are all so proud of your girls -- Fight Song has been an incredible journey and we have loved working with the girls and watching them work together to learn and perform their Fight Song.

Stay tuned for more live updates from Seneca, and I hope your summer is going as well as ours is!!
