While most of camp got a post-Fightsong sleep in, Onondaga bunks 1, 2 and 3 all woke up early on Monday morning to head out on our Tiyulim overnight trip. We arrived at Taughannock Falls State Park in Ithaca and got to hike for most of the day. The girls particularly loved walking through the water during the gorge hike. When we got back to our campsite, the girls set up their tents themselves (successfully) and broke into crews to help cook, make fire, etc. After dinner, smores highs of the day around the fire circle, the girls got to enjoy a rain-free, relatively-cool night's sleep. They got a sleep in this morning before hiking down to the playground and swimming area, which seemed to be a highlight of the day for most of the kids. Thanks to the Tiyulim program and staff, the whole trip was well-organized and ran very smoothly. I've never seen campers enjoy hiking and campouts this much before, and the trip was a great addition to the girls' last week in camp.
