To CSL Friends and Families:
We are expecting record temperatures today in Penn Yan and camp is firing on all cylinders. The warm feelings are especially plentiful on this day after last night's Big Brother/Big Sister Program, the annual pairing of our Cayugans and Onondagans with our Senior Camper Tuscarorans. Last night, the girls planned and went to a Prom while the boys canoed to Old Oneida and had an epic water balloon fight before sitting around a fire. Staying with the theme of the night, Seneca had a "Lineage Program" where small groups of each age group came together for various performances. Meanwhile, the Mohicans dedicated their evening to learning about and observing the history of the village.
We are presently in the midst of our second Hobby Session as I am surrounded by our brand new CSL Programming Hobby Group (a group of older campers who we are working with on learning to plan and run events/programs). The afternoon will see nearly all of our campers get to the Pool or Waterfront while Tuscarora will be embarking on their first bike trip of the summer to get ice cream at Mr. Twisty's (formally known as Crossroads). Our first Tiyulim overnight will return later this afternoon from their two day experience. All we have been doing these last few days will culminate this evening when the community welcomes Shabbat.
Preparations are being finalized for two major trips going out on Sunday - the Tusarorans on a three day bike trip around this region and the oldest Mohicans and Senecans up to the Adirondacks for three days.
That's all for now but keep following us in this space (we have attained over 3000 hits each day since the campers arrived!) as well as Twitter (@csl_offical), Instagram (@csl_official), and Bunk1. Thanks and have a great day.
