Hello all,
My name is Rory Waudby-Tolley and I am the Arts and Crafts Specialist this year at Camp Seneca Lake. This is my second year at CSL, and I traveled all the way from London, England to return!
In more important news, the kids have finally arrived! And here in the Craft Shack we have been busy preparing loads of awesome activities for the summer ahead.
This week we are kicking off with a great all-camp project, to bring together the individual skills of every camper to create a super huge piece of art. Each kid will create a building or location of their choice, no bigger than the palm of their hand, which will become a part of 'CSL City'. All of their creations will be assembled and laid out on a huge piece of wood, resulting in a metropolis of houses, shops, libraries, parks and whatever else the campers can imagine. The final product will be presented on display on Visitor's Day. We have had a few bunks partake already, and it looks fantastic!
We have also spent time during orientation creating a video explaining the safety rules of A and C (which involved a lot of dressing up and mucking around) which should be online shorty. Regular blog updates will follow, informing you of all the crafty goings-on during what I'm sure is to be a great summer.
Keep it crafty!
