Evening Events

CSL Families,

It is hard to believe that campers have already been at camp for nearly two full days. Yesterday marked our first "real" day at camp with normally scheduled periods in the morning and afternoon as well as evening programs after dinner.

The younger villages of Cayuga and Onondaga spent time with their bunks for bunk night. Many of them were shown the areas of camp in the form of scavenger hunts and blind-folded trust walks. Some were able to creatively express their favorite aspects of camp in the form of body painting. The campers were able to begin  forming the special bond that exists between bunk mates during the activities their staff had planned for them.

The older villages of Seneca and Mohawk participated in a program together. After discovering that the Solar System was eager to find a replacement for the planet Pluto, the male and female campers were split into teams (or planets).  They traveled to various areas in camps and competed in activities against other planets in order to determine who was best suited to join the Solar System. The activities ranged from creating a tribal dance, to creating a human pyramid and even solving another teams riddle. The combination of the co-ed dynamic as well as the competitive spirit of the campers and staff allowed for a fun and memorable evening for all involved.

Stay tuned for more updates at CSL!
