Dear Blog Spectators:
We hope you have enjoyed the last couple of days as much as we have. Things are off to a scorching start and it feels like the campers have been here for weeks.
The first day saw all campers at the pool for swim tests, at the infirmary for medical orientation, at the Waterfront, with John Golden to hear about safety, and with Neil Pickus for bunk photos. Sunday night brought tremendous excitement with Villages commencing their leagues followed by the Formal Opening Ceremonies to officially kick off CSL Summer 2012. The Ceremonies concluded with The CSL Fight Song Trophy being re-introduced to the community (which included a quick commerical that will be posted on the Blog later today). The second Fight Song will take place on July 22nd and villages are already deep into strategy and rehearsal.
Tuesday was a regular campday with exceptional energy across all specialty areas. As you saw yesterday and today, we will post a complete bunk schedule at the start of each day so you can see what your sons and daughters are doing at any given point. The evening was marked with a Mohawk/Seneca Program (PUP) and younger Bunk programs. All day and night, Tuscarora was on an incubation retreat in Old Oneida...triumphantly rejoining the camp community this morning at breakfast.
We are expecting more high temperatures today as Hobbies officially commence this afternoon. Tonight Cayuga and Onondaga will combine for a program of their own (PUP) and Mohawk/Seneca will break into bunk programs. Meanwhile, preparations for July 4th continue on in earnest.
We hope you have been following us in this space - in fact, we know you have been because our page view numbers have been at a healthy level, exceeding 2000 each of the last days. Expect the content to only increase! Also, if you are not already doing so, please follow us on Twitter and Instagram, both under the handle @csl_official. Twitter will allow you follow CSL in real time during the course of each day with continuous updates while Instagram is a running conglomeration of photos from around camp. Both of these applications are very user friendly on smartphones.
As always, feel free to send any thoughts, questions, or feedback to cslprogramming@jccrochester.org.
Have a great day!
Ari Baum
