Hello parents and friends!
Yesterday was the much anticipated Cayuga Day! It's a day that everyone looks forward to and boy did it live up to its expectations. The day began with a village breakfast of cereal, granola, and yogurt. It was quite delicious I must say, and afterwards we headed down to the eerwaterfront where we saw the greatest surprise of all: two bounce houses behind the fire circle! The first bounce house was a big blow-up waterside that sprayed water, and the second was an obstacle course. Upon seeing these, the kids were told it was Cayuga Day and it was all smiles from there. The kids played on the bounce houses for about two hours, taking turn after turn and somehow never getting tired. Campers and staff headed down the waterslide together and they raced in the obstacle course. This was simply a sensational start to C-Day.
We next headed back up to the village to wash up and change into clean clothes. Afterwards, we went up to the totem pole and celebrated the birthday of C-4's very own Noah Bobrow! We had cookie cake and sang happy birthday while the campers of course wanted him to skip around the totem pole. How lucky to have a birthday on Cayuga Day!
After then hopping on a bus, we went over to Mark's Pizzeria where the kids made their own pizzas. They saw how the dough was made, how to grate the cheese, and what it takes to make a delicious pizza. The kids shared their own creations and they surprisingly all looked amazing! I guess we have some natural pizza makers in the 'Uge this year!
After a quick fight song rehearsal, we then got on the bus and went to the Corning Museum of Glass. All of the exhibits and glass shows were simply spectacular and the kids were nothing shy of memorized by the museum.
The kids next headed back to camp, where they headed to the O-Rec to watch Space Jam and eat delicious grilled cheese sandwiches. As the sun began to fall and the sky darkened, the kids next went to the hockey rink and the tennis courts to engage in some heated CHL. The Detroit Dicerollers and the Compton Moneyshakers brought home the much coveted win on C-Day. To finish off the day, the kids played gaga in the O-Rec with a disco ball on. It was an absolutely sensational day and boy were the kids tired afterwards. Another incredible day to be in the 'Uge!
