Staff Orientation: The Beginning

CSL Families,

Welcome to the CSL Summer 2012 Blog. Through out the summer this blog will act as a direct connection between you and Camp Seneca Lake. On a daily basis, all villages, specialty areas, hobby groups as well as other staff  members and campers at Camp Seneca Lake will be posting to the blog keeping you up-to-date on the current events at CSL. Continue to follow the blog through out the summer, and be on the look-out for current pictures and posts to remain connected to Camp Seneca Lake and its campers.

Yesterday afternoon started the General Staff Orientation. Staff, old and new, were eager and energetic to get to know one another and start the 2012 summer. The staff spent the first day meeting with the Directors, Unit Heads and Head Specialists, becoming familiar with their village or specialty area. Concluding the first day of orientation the staff as a whole came together at the fire circle for a traditional CSL campfire. An array of staff members ranging from those who have been coming to camp for years, to those who have spent multiple summers away from camp and even those who are beginning their first summer as a staff member, spoke at the campfire about the importance of being a staff member and Camp Seneca Lake as a whole.

As orientation continues the staff will be preparing for campers to arrive in just one week from today. With numerous interactive and program planning sessions to come, summer 2012 will continue to take shape. Continue following the blog for updates through out orientation over the next week, and beginning July 1st for posts on the daily happenings of Camp Seneca Lake.
