Personally, my favorite walk is at 7:50 each morning from the office to the flag pole. At that time, in the morning coldness, the Sun glows. The Sun is weak, but it radiates. It warms everyone beneath the sweatshirts and sweatpants they put on to combat the morning chill. It eases the transition into the day. Most of all, it signals that we have at least 13 hours left in the day. So we smile at the Sun and the Sun smiles back.
Everybody who has been to camp has noticed one of these times, but for everybody it is different. It could be walking back to the village at night under the stars, kicking a rock back to the village from General Swim, walking down to Saturday morning services, or Shabbat Walk. Hopefully, we all remember to appreciate these specific times because they are the ones that define our camp memories.
