Oneida Speaks

This week has been a great growing experience for Oneida. Monday through Wednesday, the LIT's were given the opportunity to work with bunks and at specialty areas around camp. It was great field work for them to see what it could be like next year if they choose to return as staff members. The LIT's loved forming relationships with their campers, and getting to put their leadership skills to good use.
On another note, the final banquet that takes place on the last night of camp in August is being run by our village. Beginning Monday night, Oneida has been hard at work planning and preparing for the event. We cannot share what the theme is, as it's a surprise, but we are making tremendous amounts of progress already!
Last night all of camp participated in a square dancing/line dancing program where everyone learned new dances, from the classics such as the electric slide and cotton eyed joe, to some lesser known square dances. Everyone was promenading around with smiles on their faces. It was a great opportunity for our LITs to spend some quality time with the campers they had been working with for the previous three days. Afterwards, it was back up to the "Kraft Shack" for more banquet prep!
