Memoris From a Mohican

Dear CSL,

Hi my name is Alex Kramer and I am a activity counselor for M-2, one of the two youngest Mohawk bunks. Last night The Camp community was nicely welcomed into shabbat with Seneca and Cayuga leading services. The theme of the service was beauty and we got the chance to hear individual interpretations according to personal experiences as well as performances by staff and campers a like. Like most services here at csl the sharing of personal experiences, singing and prayer led to a general feeling of tranquility and unity among the majority of camp. After services all of the older villages headed to the O-Rec for a dance to lament the celebratory atmosphere. After a sweaty but exciting shabbat dance the campers were sent to their villages to finalize the night with rest. Something that has been newly incorporated into Saturday morning is having breakfast in the village which I think added something to the appropriate relaxed environment of shabbat. Unfortunately due to the weather shabbat choice has been canceled so we have just been hanging out in the village trying to stay dry. Over all the campers have been enjoying the unique atmosphere of shabbat.
