Color War V has Begun!!
Hey, parents!
With a slide down an ice luge (designed by Sean Taylor), Color War V has been broken to CSL! The senior campers were given this amazing news through the use of an after dinner snack. "Fire & Ice" has taken over the minds of campers and staff alike. John Golden, CSL director, says, "I was just with Tusc, and they just finished eating grape popsicles. The color of their Popsicle stick showed what team they were on. Captains ran out of O-rec bathrooms. Enthusiasm scattered throughout the room. I am very excited!" As the senior campers made their way to the fire circle, LED pucks were handed to each one of them for their entrance. We asked some of them about their opinions on Color War V; Jori Neuman of the Red team said, "This is probably the most insane thing that camp has ever done! I am very excited to be a part of it!" Shelly Trak of the Blue team said, "I cant even begin to imagine what these next 2 days will be like! I am very excited to participate in my first Color War!" Jori and Shelly were not alone as many campers were watching in awe during the presentation. As the snow falls over everyone sitting in the fire circle, it no longer feels like a summer camp. The generals of each team entered the fire circle and John Golden lit a fire rope surrounding blocks of ice. Sean Taylor carved the Color War V logo into these blocks of ice. As CSL builds on tradition, fireworks signaled the start of Color War, just as they finished off Color War last year. Campers were sent off to villages ready to start the competition in the morning. We will be keeping you updated continuously throughout the next two days until the very end of Color War.
