cayuga chronicles: memoirs of a bitter assistant coach

Today was the last full day of periods :( We started our day off with a delicious breakfast of pancakes, eggs, fruitbar, and...chocolate chips. Yummm. While on a sugar rush, the cayugans tidied up the cabins in record time giving them a chance to play beloved roofball. The morning went smoothly with a period of sing followed by a tiring hour of athletics. Oh how they love tetherball. The afternoon however did not go as planned. We had the CHL championships!! It was a neck and neck battle between the strong and roudy ravenclaw rattails and my willing-to-win team, the gryffindor gerrycurls. it seemed as if the game went on for hours. Both sets of coaches were on the edge of their seats (the grass) as we watched the ball fly from side to side on the court. Every player put up a good fight but one team had to win. It was a very close game and within the last 30 seconds, the rattails pulled through and made a tie-breaking goal for the win. I'm pretty sure one of the goals was miss called but I didn't feel like arguing with our somewhat wonderful refferee margot weiss. Congrats to both teams that made it that far in the league and to head coach justin marcus for his second championship win on the summer. CHL is a great way for the boys to work on their commucation, teamwork, and athletics skills while having a great time. Right now we are all getting ready for the final shabbat of the summer which means the cayugans are outside playing roofball in the rain. Wooooo Farewell for now, sincerely Jared Masters
