Dear Cayugan Families,
Last night was bunk night here on Seneca Lake. It is an opportunity for the different age groups to bond in a smaller group setting with programs designed specifically for them by their counselors. The youngest cayugans spent their evening rummaging through several bins of Legos and making colorful creations. The two oldest bunks joined forces last night and took a little trip beyond the gates of camp. We walked up to "gypsy camp" as it is called, which is a small little camp ground in a clearing of the woods along camp road. Gypsy camp includes a fire pit, a tree swing, and plenty of room for running around--all of which we took advantage of. The boys roasted marshmallows and kicked around a soccer ball. As the evening winded down, all off the oldest Cayugans sat around the fire and discussed what it meant to be an oldest camper in the village. Each camper said what legacy they wanted to leave for the village and what it means to be a role model for the younger campers. Even though the oldest campers are divided into two separate bunks, they proved their unity last night. I can't wait to see them lead their village in the weeks to come.
For now, Isaac Messina.
