The First Full Day in Cayuga

Dear Cayuga families,

The first full day at CSL 2011 began at 6:15 AM with the exclamation of “good morning world!” by our very own C-1 camper, Ben Furer. It is this pure excitement for camp that makes Cayuga such a unique village. The day only got better from there with egg sandwiches for breakfast and a John Mayer sing-along in the dining hall. After breakfast, the mood stayed very positive as the whole village came together to help each other get unpacked while also forming new friendships that will likely last for many years to come. As I walked around camp today with my bunk and watched them do many of the activities that camp has to offer, it was tough not to feel an overwhelming sense of pride for not only all that they have accomplished in the first twenty-four hours, but for everything that I am sure they will accomplish throughout the session. I’m very grateful to be able to come back to this place every summer and help create summers just like the ones I had in Cayuga only ten years ago.
