Let's talk about color war for a minute. The hype for the 8th color war this august is unprecedentedly high. It seems like every day, some group of campers is convinced that that evening is color war. Of course then there are the bunk mates who are certain they have reasons (staff on days off, campers on campouts, etc) why color war is definitely not happening that day. It's kind of funny to see campers of all ages go back and forth over this subject.
A few nights ago after our all camp program, everyone was seated in the O-rec to watch some videos that were created by programmings media department. Right before they started, one of my campers turned to inform me that she was convinced color war was about to break. She then explained the positives and negatives of having color war take place during the following days. Mainly she was concerned about having enough of the right color clothing.
The second of the two videos that the media department showed us was a Color War 8 promo. It was incredibly well done and very intense. The best part of this whole event was when Tusc campers stormed the stage after the video was over. The lights came back on as they pulled off sweatshirts to reveal red or blue shirts. It was the best color war fake out yet.
