Pine Tree Post

On a cold, brisk morning at CSL, the two oldest Cayugan bunks (C-4 and C-5) visited the pool for first period. Alex, the pool director, directed the campers to swim the width of the pool with a kick board. She introduced the front crawl technique and led a freestyle lesson. Afterwards, the campers skipped lunch in the dining hall and instead made their own, special meal. They went to the fire pit and joined the oldest Onondagas in making grilled cheeses and s'mores. "I loved everything about the s'mores. They were delicious," Josh explains.

When they were not eating or preparing the meal, the campers played 'capture the counselor.' It was a joint effort among the Cayugans to take down their counselors before they could escape.

But the highlight of the day came during rest hour when the Cayugans were invited to a marriage between two girls in Onondaga. Jacob says, "it was fun seeing them pretend to be boys."
