Growing up and playing sports has taught me that even if the outcome is not winning the game, it is still important to know you did the best you could and that you were satisfied with your performance.
This was the case for us last night in Fight Song. Although the cubs of Cayuga did not bring home the trophy, the campers and staff definitely came away with a positive experience from this year's program.
Our song's this year included the theme from Harry Potter, I Want Candy by Aaron Carter, and Timber by Ke$ha and Pitbull. After weeks of preparation, it was finally time to take the stage. The excitement and adrenaline leading up to the performance matched that of a CHL playoff game, and even in defeat, the campers kept their heads held high. C-2 camper, Ben stated "we did really good." Ben's bunkmate, Zachary added "we definitely got second place."
The entire Cayuga staff is extremely proud of all 36 of our campers, and thank them for all the hard work they have put in over the last three weeks. With just a few days left in the July session, our fight song performance was a great way to express all the great things that have gone on in Cayuga since the campers arrived three weeks ago.
