Thursday O1/2/3 had low ropes... And Friday S1/2 high ropes wall 1&2 and pamper and O5 had low ropes...
Low Ropes has a very specific and also very general use. It is meant to teach campers about communication, teamwork, the dynamic between "leaders" and "followers", and basically how to complete a task or challenge using the advantages of a group as tools for success. On Thursday, O-1, O-2, and O-3 exercised all of these skills at low ropes playing games including one of my personal favorites, One Fish, Two Fish, Chicken. In this game, the campers worked together to take, and then continuously hide the rubber chicken from the staff caller. It was very entertaining to watch, and the campers learned that in order to benefit the group, it was not all about getting the chicken, it was about strategizing ways to trick the caller and return the chicken to the main line.
On Friday, the bunks of S-1 and S-2 had High Ropes and got to climb up the rock wall and the pamper pole. Each bunk got to both elements, and every girl left the ropes session feeling successful and accomplished. All in all, a good couple of days at ropes!
