It is with great pleasure that I announce the hiring of
Rachel Rosenbaum as the CSL 2014 Tuscarora Unit Head. Originally hailing from Syracuse, NY, Rachel has been a part
of the CSL community since she was 7 years old. She was a Tusc camper in 2007 (I was her Unit Head) and has
worked on the staff since that time, including 2012 as a Tusc counselor. She most recently served as the
Associate Program Director in 2013.
During the year, Rachel keeps very busy. Currently a senior at Cornell
University in the College of Human Ecology, Rachel majors in Design and
Environmental Analysis. Her
passions mainly revolve around community development and sustainability and CSL
has benefitted immensely as a result.
In 2013, among her many responsibilities, Rachel spearheaded the first
ever all camp Tikkun Olam project and curriculum that resulted in The Golden
View, a site in the woods designated for Saturday morning services.
This is an incredibly capable and thoughtful person who is
extremely excited for the opportunity to be a part of Tuscarora 2014. She is the first female unit head in
Tusc since 2007 and first solo female unit head in Tusc since 2005. The climactic camper program has grown
tremendously in recent years and Rachel has a lot of ideas on continuing that
positive direction.
Congratulations to Rachel but also to the Senior Campers of
2014 on what will undoubtedly be a life-defining experience. Nine months to go.
Sincerely,
Ari Baum, Assistant Director & Tusc
Program Coordinator
1992-Present
