On Saturday August 9th, 2013, Tusc broke the most intense program camp has ever seen- Color War. Earlier in the day, after Shabbat Choice, Tusc returned to the village just like everybody else in camp. When we walked into our tent out sneakers we on our beds with red or blue shoelaces on them. I cam to find red ones. We were ordered to the T-Rec where the generals, captains, and other programmers were waiting for us to arrive. We watched a video reminding us that the score was tied 3-3. After practicing the break, it was hard to keep a secret from hundreds of people. The time finally came. Throughout the break, I was so happy I couldn't stop smiling. Color War has always given me an opportunity to push myself and has always meant a lot to me.
The next two days were just as I expected. Trying to get the red team to line up, stay quiet, and keep hydrated during meals, starting cheers, and constantly making sure my team was doing the best they could. It is always hard to come back from losing events, but the red team stayed strong and positive. On the final day of Color War, I told my fellow Tusc teammates the we had to give it our all. It was out last day in Color War as a camper, and we couldn't come close to winning if we didn't.
Tusc shined those two days of Color War whether or not they were on red or blue. After the winner was announced-Blue- we all for a long time, even if we were on the winning team. We stayed at the fire circle comforting one another. I am so proud of everyone in Tusc. We all tried our hardest and this experience has brought us close than ever.
