Tonight camp Seneca lake made magic. We brought to life two games that were a major part of my childhood; hungry, hungry hippos and operation. The entire village night began by splitting onondaga into four teams. Hungry hungry hippos was played by putting three kids from each team into a hoola hoop that connected to a rope. Counselors held onto the rope so that campers could only get a certain distance from them. The objective was to collect the most balls from the middle. However there was a twist, for one round the campers were blind folded and for another they had to do the entire task on one foot. Although the children found it challenging at times, they thoroughly enjoyed it.
The next part of village night was based around the game operations. The ground was filled with cups and plates that separated the campers from hundreds of tennis balls. The objective of this game was to run across the plates and cups without touching them and bring your team back two balls. However if you touched anything on the ground you had to start all over.
After these exciting games we ended the night with an ice cream party and a game of dodgeball against the boys.
Now the girls are in for another surprise as all the other female campers in camp are coming to wake them up so they can mass monkey the boys. This is when they go to the opposite sexes village and cheer loudly to wake them up from their sleep!
