Color War 7: Sunday p.m.
This afternoon, after a relaxing rest hour, came a series of athletic events that made up the "People of Steel" program. At any given moment, there were so many different activities happening, and there was an incredible excitement in the air. Events such as speedball, basketball, nuke'm, water polo, and gaga, along with many others captured the excitement of both the players and spectators who were cheering on their team. Matt in Mohawk on the blue team says, "This is the most intense, gut-wrenching color war I have ever been a part of. I've been in 4, and I think the intensity is at an all-time high!" Possibly the most intense part of the afternoon were the Iron Men and Women competitions, in which both campers and staff participated in triathlon-style swimming, biking and running events. The campers in the events were all Tusc campers. Lizzie I'm Tusc on the red team says about her fellow Tuscarorans, "I was really proud of them. It was such a big accomplishment for them as it was so difficult. At the beginning of the summer we really wouldn't be able to do the triathlon, but while supporting each other we can all do it. For triathlon, its less about teams and more about cheering everyone on." This spirit is essential for Color War to be successful, and the best part is always when the campers come together to cheer together.
