Hello everyone,
I'm sorry to be reaching out to you do late, but this is the first chance I have gotten because yesterday was so busy. I am Cameron Robinson and I am your Mohawk blogging liaison. I will be communicating to you, as well as other Mohawk staff and campers, through the CSL blog. I can't express to you how excited we here in Mohawk are about this session.
Yesterday started off full of anticipation for the campers. Right from wake up the counselors began preparing for campers to come by creating costumes and signs, and making sure that all the baggage and beds were set up for their arrivle. Mohawks opening costume was McHawk. All of mohawk staff dressed up like Ronald McDonald and went "McNuts" - if you will - when the Mohawk campers got off the bus.
From here we went to a delicious lunch and then back to village where we picked up bathing suits and towels and headed to the pool for swim test. Through out the after noon we stopped at the office for Tshirts and bunk pictures, went I the nurses to get checked for lice, and stopped at the waterfront for a quick orientation then headed back
After dinner we had MAL (Mohawk American League) tryouts at the O-Field. There was an unbelievable showing by the Mohawk campers this session. The draft was heated and the teams have been made. It is expected to be a competitive season this year.
After MAL tryouts the campers headed down to the fire circle for opening procession and village / specialty area skits. Mohawk put on a lovely rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody using sock puppets which gained laughs and cheers from the entirety of camp.
The first day was busy, but the campers most definitely had fun. Once again we can not express our gratitude enough that you trust us with your children. We promise that they will be having a summer like never before and return home begging you to sign them up for next year as soon as possible. Keep checking in with us to stay coughs up on everything Mohawk.
