Hello CSL Spectators!
We nearly 24 hours in to August 2012 and it is scorching already. Aside from warm temperatures, CSL has been hard at work and play since we officially began yesterday. In the afternoon, every camp took a swim test yesterday, got a safety orientation at the Waterfront, met the nurses and doctors, received their CSL t-shirts, took bunk photos, and spent some time with Director John Golden. In the evening, each village formally convened before the camp-wide Opening Ceremonies took place at the Waterfront. Each specialty area and village staff executed a creative way of introducing themselves to the campers, including the Kitchen Staff who marched in with hundreds of cookies spelling out "Welcome to CSL." Later in the program, the Unit Heads and Directors processed down Infirmary Hill with lit torches and lit the first fire of the session. Camp then spent some time singing together. And finally, the first promo of Color War was aired to everyone's amazement (this will be posted on the blog later today).
Now that we have officially begun, we are now mobilizing to embark on our first regular day of the session. Tons happening around camp over the next couple of days and well, really, the next three weeks. Please stay tuned to the blog and bunk1.com as there will be regular updates from across camp and please follow us on twitter and instagram at csl_official.
Any questions or comments, please direct to me at cslprogramming@jccrochester.org. Hope you all have a great day as we sure will!
