Dearest families,
Mohawk is on fire. Yesterday, the staff put on a world class performance at opening ceremonies with a CSL oompa loompa rendition. The 1971 version of the song from willy wonks and the chocolate factory was heavily favored as the winner in last nights bout between villages.
Later on, at a village fire, M-5 counselor, David Schram, said that the summer would be shaped by what we bring to the table, rather than what is already on it. Each day is a battle. And each day, we, Mohawk, want to win. We aspire to cheer louder and longer than the rest. We hope to lead better than the rest. And we strive to lead by example. It is our goal, as a village, to set the pulse for camp this summer.
Mohawk continued its positivity today. The MNL (Mohawk national league) season opened today. In an upset win, the kitchen mets defeated the heavily favored Tiyulim Rockies 15-13 with a massive final inning. The waterfront Indians, coached by myself, mike Lape and max wolf, won 10-5 against the party boat pirates. Overall, the village was ecstatic to get back out on the diamond.
Looking forward to the start of hobbies tomorrow, followed by the fourth of July on Wednesday.
Best,
Andy Powers
AUH M-2 Counselor
