Cayuga Chronicles

Hi everyone,

I'm Jon Shapiro, a C-1 counselor and I have been going to camp Seneca lake since 2006. This is my first year as a staff member and I have loved every second of it this far!

Today we started the day off with a much needed sleep in, to which we went to breakfast and then to hobbies. At hobbies I saw a few very memorable things at the waterfront, including Zach Young wakeboarding with one hand! In addition to this I also saw Eli Curwin and Reed Spindleman covered in sea weed for a jr sports zone activity! After hobbies we had lunch and went to our third period...tiyulim. At tiyulim we learned about our exciting camping trip coming up and learned how to pitch a tent. After tiyulim we went to play in our Cayuga Hockey League, or CHL, in which the Compton Money Shakers beat the Harrisburg Howdown Throwdowns. In the other matchup, the Detroit Dicerollers were able to come away with the victory in the hard-faught game against the Charleston Charlestons. Soon after we left the two very competitive games to get ready for Shabbat (Don't worry, everybody showered!), and we went to dinner. This will certainly be a Shabbat to remember as Cayuga will be co hosting Shabbat along with Mohawk! The services went very nicely, and everyone in Cayuga had another great day at CSL!

Can't wait for tomorrow!
