Cayuga Chronicles

Hello all,

My name is Mike Pascutoi, and I am a second-year staff member. Along with being an enthusiastic member  of the Cayuga staff, I spend mornings and most of the afternoons at camp working as a member of the ropes staff. I also spend significant time working on programming, both for Cayuga and the entire camp in general.

In the words of Program Director Ari Baum, Camp Seneca Lake has entered a crucial time he likes to call "The Radius."

The Radius, in a nutshell, refers to the 48 hours of preparation before a major event at camp; in this case, the major event is the arrival of the July campers. The Cayuga Staff delved further into our preparation today by not preparing for the physical arrival of campers by moving their belongings into their cabins and cleaning the village, but also by mentally preparing ourselves for the challenges ahead of us this summer. Preparation for village programs and activities has been accelerated, and I can honestly say I have never felt so ready for campers to arrive at camp so they can experience all the awesome things we have planned for them!

Furthermore, our village has accelerated preparation for Fight Song, an all-camp program meant to be a competition, but an activity that we see as being about village pride more than anything else.

Best wishes to you all,

Mike Pascutoi
